Explanation:
tout dépend du ton du texte : ex :
- de la calandre au pot d'échappement, la voiture a été entièrement restaurée.

S'il s'agit de pièces précises de carrosserie :
Si je regarde par exemple le "nose panel" sur la photo
http://www.carquip.com/parts/911/race/nose/index.asp
j'appellerais ça la face avant
(et à l'arrière face arrière)

Explanation:
Both 'nose' and 'tail' are common aircraft terms. Given the nature of modern racing cars (e.g. Formula 1) built to aoredynamic specifications that aircraft constructors would be proud of, would it be pushing the boat out too far with the above suggestion?

Modern racing cars have their front and rear sections dedicated to aerodynamics (not storage space or engine room). If youn were sure of the modern context, these idea may help.

Taking it a step further, the nose of a plane is referred to as the 'cône', not quite the shape on modern racing cars, but similar.

As we have all seen during Grand prix, the nose and tail are seperate sections - not part of some elegant, all-in-one bodywork - that are replaceable whenever they get damaged. This is different to the very well documented suggestions made by Oddie that refer to \'normal\' cars for everyday usage. You\'ll have to judge the context, but these terms suggest a much more utilitarian approach to car design (i.e. aerodynamics) than aesthetic (I\'m thinking about the beautiful DS mentioned by Oddie, which you wouldn\'t take for a spin around Brandshatch or Monza!).
