Bad English 'definition' 00:29 Feb 7, 2009
The quote from The Auto Glossary.com is not a definition; at best it's just a rather sloppy explantion. It cannot be a 'definition' because it states that a camshaft is tubular (implying that it's hollow) - that may be true in certain (rare) cases, but is not universally so. At the end of the quote it says "... while a V-shaped dohc engine will have four cams". That's plain sloppy - the last word should be 'camshaft'. Yet again (and this must be the 4th or 5th time I find myself saying the same thing in GBK) the quality of the English source materials is appaling and merely detracts from the quality (if any...) of the translations into other languages. |
