neutral  Tony M: Have to be a little careful with this one! 'gripper' is used for 'to seize', which is when the brakes actually jam up altogether; 'bind' is not necessarily that severe, and so 'gripper' may be OTT

  -> Comme dit precedemment c'est l'expression consacree en automobile. Cela vient des freins a tambour qui se bloquaient par grippage (rouille, ou autre deterioration) mais je ne suis pas sectaire et nous pouvons garder bloquer...
