English term or phrase:ATP switch
La requête ["ATP switch" "transfer case"] donne plusieurs résultats, mais je n'arrive pas à trouver avec certitude ce que signifie ATP. Un forum dit "Automation Transmission Park" (Automation devrait peut-être se lire Automatic): http://www.clubtitan.org/forumshowthread.php?t=41723, mais évidemment sans source.
Rien dans le GDT ni dans Termium.

Je crois que «switch» est soit le contacteur qui fait fonctionner ou non la position Park de la boîte de vitesses, soit celui qui fait allumer la lampe témoin au besoin. Merci! 3 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer
@ FV : Intéressant, et le terme au long est pour le moins imagé : «contacteur de boite pour démarrer sur P»!
Compte tenu de la contrainte d'espace, j'en suis à ceci :

@ Arnold007 : je penche sérieusement pour contacteur, s'il est vrai que le dispositif est actionné par un dispositif et non par l'utilisateur.
Explanation: bva = boîte de vitesses automatique
p = position Park, stationnement, parking, etc.
switch = interrupteur, commutateur

Asker: Merci à tous. @ FV : j'aime bien BVA, mais malheureusement elle est peu utilisée au Québec. Question : il y aurait aussi contacteur, s'il est vrai qu'«interrupteur» et «commutateur» sont actionnés par l'utilisateur, alors qu'ici le contact est fait par un dispositif, selon l'explication du manuel ci-dessus...

Asker: Excellent. Si on garde l'anglais, autant utiliser l'abréviation ATP, accompagnée d'un «terme explicatif» français...
