La mode précédente était au "common rail" où une rampe commune accumule du carburant sous haute pression, les injecteurs s'alimentant alors dans ce réservoir.
Des variations sont apparues, notamment Delphi/renault (dci) avec une "rampe" (en fait une sphère) par injecteur, et sur certains moteurs en V ouvert ou à plat la "rampe commune" est vraiment trop loin des injecteurs ou ne s'intègre pas dans l'architecture existante des tubulures d'admission, il en faut alors 2: c'est une "double rampe".
Le "dual rail fuel system" est don un "circuit d'alimentation à deux rampes" (ou à rampe double) |
