English term or phrase:gas miser
Bonjour,
je traduis un texte parlant d'une voiture hybride dernier cri. Dans la phrase suivante, je ne connais pas le terme "gas miser", et malgré mes recherches, je n'ai pas trouvé de traduction. Auriez-vous une idée ?

Un "miser" est un avare - ici, c'est appliqué au véhicule dans son ensemble. La voiture est "l'avare".

"a gas miser that gets to highway speed as fast as any big car" : it just can't be a device.
Looks like a typo or transcription error or scanno for 'highway speed'!
A 'gas miser' means a 'fuel-economic car'

Dans ce cas, c'est sûrement l'engin entier, le dragster, qui est le gas miser (l'avare en carburant), mais en français on attribuerait plutôt la sobriété au moteur.
D'ailleurs, sobre est aussi une option, mais justement, le terme est un peu sobre. ;)
