Given that these are for the automotive industry and that there are two production plants, I am assuming that the dies are for the production of panels etc. and confidence level is based on this assumption.

agree  mchd: on peut aussi employer "matrice d'estampage", et cela me semble effectivement le sens, autre alternative à l'emboutissage

neutral  Tom Bishop: NancyLynn, when I saw the term on its own by email, my first thought was of dies for hard-stamping identification, but the additional info supplied made me think that metalforming was the more likely application and that has now been confirmed.
