English term or phrase: magneto bearing
When completely disassembling an engine, wrap 3 or 4 turns of masking tape around the crankshaft threads at the magneto end as soon as you remove the flywheel. That way, when you eventually slide the crank through the ****magneto bearing*****, the sharp threads are covered and the bearing protected from an “oops”!
