I think we're talking about "micro-cups" used in robotic assays, something perhaps similar to ELISA assays' trays (kind of biochemical tests that look for biological compounds such as proteins/DNA in test plates carrying many small "cups" or "wells")...So I'd go for something like :"cartographie des echantillons" ou "carte de positionnement [des echantillons]"

agree  CFournier: oui, je crois que c'est cela. Une cartographie/carte de chaque endroit sur le "tray" où se trouve un échantillon et de chaque endroit vide.
