mentalité axée sur le volume (ou, sur la quantité)
Companies focused on "moving boxes" are companies who try to make money selling large volumes of usually low-margin goods. This is a widely used expression in the IT sector, especially for PC makers.
In French, we would speak of "une mentalité axée sur le volume (sous-entendu: des ventes)", ou "sur la quantité".
Compaq has recently announced such a shift towards services and consulting at the expense of box moving.
