ok, in this case fine, there is an S, which to me is lacking on date, it would be fine if it were 'the later of the dateS'

disagree  Tony M: No, I'm afraid in this sort of context, it doesn't mean that at all. / This is perfectly standard commercial English, just as in "the greater of two amounts", etc. / No, there's only ONE invoice date or ONE delivery date. 'Later of 2 dates', yes.

neutral  Martin Cassell: as Tony says, it's entirely correct. you could expand it to: "... the later of (a) the date of invoice or (b) the date of delivery ..."
