I also think Hervé's proposal is pretty decent although not 100%accurate; the word "fiables" relays more of a sense of someone you can count on (reliable) which is not the same as "highly regarded".
"Renommée" is actually the word describing high regard (i.e.: to be held in high regard).

neutral  xxxCHENOUMI: Sorry but "renommée" means "to be famous, to be reputed for something...", not "highly regarded". In fact, someone can be notoriously *infamous*.

  -> Any F to E to F dictionary will confirm to you that the specific term for Reputation (English) is Réputation (French). As for "notoriously infamous" it would be quite the debate in the quest to disitnguish between "possible", "probable" and "relevant".

agree  Robert Frankling: Fine translation of the question. "Sucker" is not considered obscene by most people, but a mockery equivalent to "dupe." "Sucked in"=fooled.
