English term or phrase: switching gels
During a large pop concert broacasted on TV, "Technicians scrambled over scaffoldings, switching gels and adjusting spots".
Je ne trouve ces "gels " nulle part. Il me faudrait une explication plus qu'une traduction.

agree  Tony M: Also referred to as 'gélatine' in FR / Even though it is an anglicism, 'filtre' is commonly used in FR in the biz, just as today 'filter' is the more fashionable word in EN instead of 'gel' (a bit 'old hat' — those of us who use it are showing our age!)
