"Retrieve" correspond à une récupération d'informations, donc une recherche dans la base, par ex.

Une autre remarque : comme il s'agit manifestement d'un fichier de messages, il faut surtout voir avec le contexte, et chosir une traduction de "retrieve" ou "retrieval" qui convienne pour toutes les occurrences... Si "search" est utilisé par ailleurs, alors éviter "recherche" et prendre "extraction" ou "récupération", mais ce dernier peut avoir différents sens en informatique (recovery)...
