A brief clearing [---] message appears. Press CAL again within a 3 second period. The percentage of the measured current to the ideal one is displayed

puis,
Press STORE a second time, within five seconds of the first, and the following sequence will be displayed:
1) A brief clearing message,
2) A measurement display, for three seconds,
3) Another clearing message, as measurement data is being stored.

Explanation:
Encore qu'il ne s'agisse pas d'un message d'effacement à proprement parler (du genre Souhaitez-vous effacer les données OUI NON?).
L'appareil efface la mesure précédente de la mémoire pour y placer la nouvelle, d'où l'idée d'une RàZ mémoire.
Dans le reste du doc où il est question de clearing, il est bien question d'effacer la mémoire des mesures antérieures.
