Install the four hip rafters between the common rafters as shown on page B. Keep the top corners of the hips flush with the top of the common rafters. Attach using four fasteners per hip. See Hip Nailing Detail. Attach the hips to the plates using four fasteners per hip. Make sure that the corner of the plates meets the center of the bird's mouth. Also make sure the corner of the plates is tight to the bird's mouth.
