FX Fraipont: "to grind" = to crush the ice into slush // I hope you are not seriously suggesting that "to grind out ice" means "Produce something with great difficulty"!

-> "grind out" is quite different from "grind", i.e. http://www.usingenglish.com/reference/phrasal-verbs/grind ou... it was just an example, in this context, it would rather mean "to produce in a routine manner" http://www.thefreedictionary.com/grind out

Sheila Wilson: The context I've given in the discussion area makes it clear that there's a play on words here. Grind the ice (not that they have to do it manually!) for a granité (if that's the best translation of 'slush') and grind out one after another, after another
