• Quarterly demographic estimates from October 2011 indicate the aggregate population of the Atlantic Provinces increased by 0.1% from the previous quarter to stand at 2,359,612. Prince Edward Island (PEI) experienced the greatest growth (0.2%) as its population grew to 146,152. Both Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) and Nova Scotia (NS) had population increases of 0.1% to 511,272 and 946,378, respectively. New Brunswick’s (NB) population (755,810) remained virtually unchanged since the previous quarterly estimate.
