English term or phrase: questioning lader
Have participants look at HANDOUT A - questioning ladder to show participants the questioning ladder. Then, explain it to the participants.

SAY: Let’s look at this ladder together. We should think of the questions we ask in a lesson as a ladder. At the bottom of the ladder are questions that check that students have a basic knowledge and understanding of a topic, the next rung of the ladder verifies if they can explain the concepts and ideas they have learned, and the last level makes sure that they can make a judgment about those concepts and use those ideas. It is the same as using different levels of understanding in Bloom’s taxonomy
