Board-release thumb screws. There are seven thumb screws, labelled XXX, which hold the hinged circuit board in place

Thumb screws = Vis de boîtier

But how should I translate 'board-release'?

it is a bit of an oxymoron in French I think to use vis and the opposite of what it is used for, i.e. attaching/closing/holding a part

agree  Etienne Amblard: Il me semble, cependant, que des vis moletées sont plus courantes en informatique que des vis papillon. Sans certitude.

  -> oui - moins encombrant suivant la taille - le contexte ou illustration pourra aider à choisir

agree  bobdelbart: La vis sert à être vissée, mais aussi à être dévissée, sinon ce serait un clou. Ce que je veux dire, c’est que si “vis de débloquage” est un oxymoron, alors “vis de maintien” est une redondance. Cette dernière traduction n’en reste pas moins exacte.
