courant reactif
Explanation:
Blind current is the current that carries no energy (power) because it is at a phase angle of 90 degrees to the voltage. Original text was most likely in German - reactive power is called in DE *Blindleistung*. In all other languages it is called reactive current/power.

disagree  FX Fraipont: je crois que ça n'a pas grand chose à voir : on ne parle pas de photodétecteurs

disagree  xxxmediamatrix: 'courant d'obscurité' is the translation of 'dark current'. It is irrelevant here.

disagree  meirs: Do not confuse blind with dark - related in the human mind - but lexically different

neutral  FX Fraipont: shouldn't it be "reactive power" rather than "current"? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volt-amperes_reactive)

-> ST is clear about "current". practically there is no engineering difference, but there is lexically

disagree  xxxmediamatrix: 1) It is called 'reactive current/power' only in English, not in 'all (any) other languages'. 2) It is not necessarily (and usually is not) 'at 90º'.
6 hrs
-> 1) whatever; 2)reactive current is always at 90 deg (lead or lag) vs. voltage. Apparent current is at at some angle - and is the vectorial sum of two orthogonal vectors = active and reactive.
