It is clearly a removable connector-type plug, so although one lmight use 'fiche', I suggest that 'connecteur' is probably more suitable here.
The exact word needed to complete the term may depend on exactly what this action of 'linking out' in fact achieves, but the idea is generally that a dummy plug is inserted that carriess connections that will enable the main equipment to function correctly in the absence oif (say) what should normally be plugged into the socket — a typical example might be to allow a machine to work even if the hard-wired remote control is removed.
In this sense, the 'linking-out' usually involves some sort of notion of 'by-passing', hence why 'shunt' might be one suitable option; if you know more about the linking-out process, you might be able to find a still more suitable term instead. |
