I can't find a proper translation.

Explanation:
Je me risque à faire cette suggestion puisqu'il ne semble pas y avoir ruée de candidats en ce week-end ...
Je pense qu'il s'agit bien d'un joint, "collar" pris au sens de "Bund" en allemand, formant bourrelet, probablement protégé lui-même par une gouttière qui empêche les pénétrations d'eau.
Pour "trough", auge ou augette ne semble pas convenir du tout.
Pas trouvé de confirmation sur Google.fr.
