English to French translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Engineering: Industrial | | English term or phrase: casting yields | | j'ai trouvé comme traduction "mise au mille" mais ne suis pas sûr qu'elle s'applique ici "seeding techniques developed by single crystal casters allow to obtain high performance and economic resultant casting yields". |

"Manufacturing Considerations
Allison Single Crystal Operation's (SCO) casting furnaces are designed specifically for producing single crystal components. They are tailored to produce single crystal turbine blades and vanes at maximum product yield, and are not compromised by requirements to produce high volume DS columnar grain parts. The 100 KW withdrawal-type Retech VIM furnaces can cast mold sizes up to a 24" diameter (310 mm) using up to 50 lbs (23 kgs) of alloy. The uncompromised furnace design and optimization and control of the ceramic shell molding techniques maximize casting yield. Ingot charge weights are balanced to minimize alloy input cost and again maximize casting yield.
Allison has closely collaborated with Cannon-Muskegon (CM) during the engineering and manufacturing development of CMSX-4 (28, 29), the initial casting trials to optimize aim chemistry having commenced in 1987. Single crystal casting quality and yield, chemistry changes from the remelting and casting operations, response to solution heat treatment and ageing and mechanical property results have been shared and "fine-tuned" through these collaborative efforts. During the routine manufacture of test bars and actual blades from production heats to measure consistency and qualification, it was realized that CMSX-4 had relatively small negative 7/7' mismatch at high temperature, which necessitated the development of an unusual 1140°C (2085°F) high temperature age (29) to optimize 7' size (0.45 itm) (30, 31) and subsequent creep-rupture response."

-------------------------------------------------- Note added at 20 ore (2009-05-24 12:42:56 GMT) --------------------------------------------------
