C'est vraiment spécial.
L'objectif final est probablement de pouvoir arrêter la machine et permettre la mise en place d'une bobine pleine de fil.

Pas trouvé de lien sur Google.

A mon avis, le texte anglais devrait s'écrire en fait " ... wire-end sensing device".

Explanation:
My reading is that a wire is trapped by the fingers on the wheel and as it is pulled through so this 'dispositif' looks for the leading end - presumably with a view to grabbing hold of it and pulling it.The 'dispositif' could be some kind of opto-mechanical device or purely mechanical (using some kind of 'palpeur').

Not doubt a fine example of the saying: A picture tells a thousand words!
