Environment & Ecology / Pun
English term or phrase: "Bin Brother" chip
This is from an article about the microchips which are placed in dustbins to record how much rubbish each household places in their bin. It is obviously a pun on "Big Brother" with the idea that we are under constant surveillance - even regarding what we put in our dustbin.
So does anyone have a suggestion as to what I might call these "spy chips" in French? Puces espionnes?
The whole sentence reads
"In Germany, where the "Bin Brother" chips are made, families pay 18p per kilo of rubbish that is not recycled".

Funnily enough, this had also occurred to me - thinking of the "tacographe" HGV/PSV drivers call a "mouchard" and I also like the fact that "mouches" are not unrelated to "bugs" which is another way in which this article refers to the offending piece of electronics.
Thanks to all,
Jo

agree Lauren UK: I quite like that - it is far more pejorative than 'puce espionne' so maybe grasps the word play slightly better.

"bin brother" chip puce "bin brother"

Explanation:
