Place the sandwich in the sandwich clips. The clips can be opened by pushing them together by hand. Place the clips in the toaster slot. Turn on the toaster. When the sandwich is ready, the lift will raise the sandwich.

En fait, c'est un Hollandais qui a traduit ce texte en anglais : étant donné que le grille-pain contient un ressort, c'est ce qu'il a voulu exprimer, je pense, avec le mot "lift" (ascenseur). C'est après que je l'ai réalisé. Pas évidemment à comprendre, forcément.
Concordance des temps à faire ("when", dans ce cas, est toujours au présent, mème si en FR il exprime un futur).
