English term or phrase:the very edge
"We arrived at the top of the mountain. We were at the very edge. There was a 500 metre drop below us."
Je sais que "edge" veut dire "bord", mais comment peut-on rendre "the very edge" dans ce contexte ? Merci !
Explanation: C'est le sommet, la ligne de crête, impossible de monter plus haut, c'est la dernière limite atteignable, tu peux renforcer avec une expression du style "nous avions finalement touché au but, le sommet".
