I have been out of the office, so have only just seen emiledgar's very pertinent discussion point above, which got me thinking (not easy on a Friday afternoon).
I find there are 71,300,000 ghits (more or less) for "passionate about (something)", so although it might not have seemed very English to me, it certainly is to several million other people.
As emiledgar says, it means "being fully invested" (or maybe "very excited about"?), and it is indeed different from loving your work (though l'un n'empêche pas l'autre).
It seems to me that Elise T's suggestion comes closest to that in French. |
