English term or phrase: "it's like a war zone in here

Bonjour
Voici le contexte : un couple visite un loft, encore en travaux, c'est le chantier. L'homme est enthousiaste, la femme pas tellement, elle s'exclame : "Oh my god ! It's like a war zone in here", l'air critique. Comment rendrait-on cette phrase en français ? Il ne me semble pas correct de traduire cela par "On croirait une zone de guerre", qui ne me paraît pas naturel. Je pense qu'il existe une expression plus appropriée, ou plus idiomatique, mais je ne la trouve pas ! Merci d'avance pour vos idées !

Liliane Hatem: Beyrouth n'est pas un champ de bataille, vous y passerez de tres bonnes vacances en visitant son centre ville./Malheureusement, oui, mais une reponse moins specifique serait meilleure. Je vous invite a un cafe le jour ou vous la visiterez ;)

-> Liliane, c'est une expression ! Entrée dans le langage (familier) en des temps où Beyrouth connaissait malheureusement la guerre. Loin de moi l'idée qu'on ne passe pas de bonnes vacances à Beyrouth aujourd'hui ... // d'accord :)
