In the first instance, it is referring to the actual process of going out on an emergency call; I guess this might be some form of 'intervention', at least, that's what my security guard friend calls it when he has to go round and inspect a premises where the alarm has gone off, for example.
However, when associated with 'rota', this is referring to people who are to be available to go on emergency call-outs if necessary, and I think in that instance, 'astreinte' might well be appropriate. The 'rota' is just the list of people and times, in our restaurant, we simply called that a 'planning' |
