the nods - "The Nods" is a state which every narcotic user (especially heavy narcotics, such as heroin) yearns for.
It is the state in which you drift in and out of conciousness for possibly several hours on end, and is associated with the state of "nirvana".
It's literally to the point where you feel so good you don't care if you are are asleep or awake, because you'll feel great anyway
When a person has "the nods" they feel very, very good, and is typically, after a "rush" the second favorite thing on any junkie's "to do" list after using narcotics.
It's basically every junkie's dream.

There Are Two Types Of Nod. There Is The One Where You Feel Good, But Sleepy. When You Nod Out You Basically Fall Asleep. Then There Is The One Where Your Eyes Are Closed, But Totally Aware Of What Is Going On Around You. Your Head Kinda Sweats, You Itch A Little And It Feels Sooooooo Good. Sorry About All Caps. Didn't Realize It Was On.
I would like to submit one more classification of nod if I could "The Waking Nod"
Like the first nod you described only different when the morning houes arrive. Get out of bed itchy, warm, comfortable, spaced out put completely with it. I;ve noticed this Nod when waking up to go to work in the morning. When the last thing you did was blow an eighty at 4 or 5 am then then you lay in bed in the second kind of nod you described. The one in which you dont sleep but you dream. Inbetween land is what I call it. Marijuana makes this place much easier to reach in my experience.
***So then you get out of bed alert and ready showering dressing and in a zombie state nod.*** I've seen friends in this state with me in the morning, girlfriends too, and I can see how an outsider would think of us as zombies but if they only new the beauty.
