aussi = acheter à regret
grudge purchase = products or services a person does not enjoy buying, but has to because nobody cannot do without them. It is opposed to enjoyable shopping.
some grudge purchases are bank services, insurances, some essentials for the household etc.
In French I have seen it mostly translated as "achats obligatoires"
