No the context is quite different: an international organisation has published a first draft of directives regarding a specific subject. In the meantime, the same organisation, but also my client organisation and a 3rd association, have launched a consultation among their respective members to comment on this first Draft of Directives. The document I am translating is 'the brief' to which the above sentence refers', which contains a summary of the comments received by various members during the consultation process and which present recommendations. The sentence therefore means that the delegations (of members participating to a round of negotiations re. the Directives) are now invited to use the brief I am translating as a tool (et je maintiens instrument en français) to 'promote text' for the final Draft (of the directives). So I need to understand what 'to promote text for' means, whether this is 'influence the formulation' or other.. |
