After carefully considering the options, I ended up translating the question as "Prévoyez-vous continuer à utiliser divers produits de sécurité sur vos PC, ou envisagez-vous plutôt de consolider le tout en choisissant une seule solution logicielle de sécurité?". Thank you for your help...your answers were all good but I decided I couldn't fairly grade them since I ended up going with a different alternative.... The context is clearly IT and I do believe, based on bohy's comment as well as additional research I've done, that the question will be accurate and understandable for its intended audience with "consolider". Whether it's good or bad French may still be a valid topic for further debate, but I think market research, particularly in IT, may be more forgiving than other contexts in that regard. Robert Morin brought up an interesting point--but I do believe the same is true in English (ie. that verb originally came from finance and its usage was later extended into other areas). |
