Vérifiez auprès du Conseil de l'Ordre des Juristes les crédentiels des témoins experts. Explanation: I am not an expert in the Law field myself, but if I understand this well, an "expert witness" is a person who is an expert in his/her own field and can come to court as a witness to explain certain things pertaining to the court case. For instance, a psychiatrist can come and explain that a person who suffers from this or that disorder would indeed be expected to react in such and such a way in this or that circumstance. An expert in geology could explain that such and such a type of soil exists only at a specific place. Etc., etc. Here is another example: " graphology, graphologia, graphologie, grapho-analyisis, handwriting analysis, bad checks, forgery, forgeries, expert witness, court testimony, hot check, forged check, testimony, handwriting expert, analysis, handwriting expert" http://www.handwritingexperts.com/ "What Is An Expert Witness? An expert witness is someone who has a special knowledge, skill, or experience in the subject about which he/she is to testify. Testimony given by such a witness, in his/her capacity as such, constitutes expert evidence or expert testimony. " http://www.ablehomeinspection.com/expertwitness.html#1 The fact that they check such an expert makes sense if you want to make sure that this person is indeed an expert in his or her field and can be counted upon to provide proper testimony. You may find here a page where expert witnesses can be located by lawyers: http://www.witness.net/ |
