disagree  Keyvan Sayar: Aujourd'hui on utilise cette expression pour les hommes et les femmes... il ne s'agit donc plus d'autorité ou de puissance uniquement paternelle. Par exemple en cas de divorce la femme peut se voir confier la totalité de la patria potestas sur l'enfant.

agree  Keyvan Sayar: Juste une petite remarque: l'expression patria potestas vient du droit romain (et signifie "puissance du père") mais est toujours utilisée aujourd'hui sauf qu'elle ne ne se réfère plus seulement au père. On peut parler de la patria potestas d'une mère.
