lubricate = faciliter 11:18 Apr 7, 2009
I think the speaker is making it fairly clear that he advocates moving away from the 'caveman' image for this classy joint, and instead employing himself as a real, live 'athlete' (presumably eye-candy!) as someone to 'facilitate' the striking of deals (i.e. sales) — although it's not made explicit, I rather get the impression that this is instead of the existing rather tacky 'closers', who presumably don't quite fit the image of a 'classy' joint.
This figurative use of 'lubricate' generally corresponds to the notion of 'faciliter' in FR, though I wouldn't presume to suggest how to convey that in a more colloquial register as in the source text here. Unless the simple use of « faciliter » in quotes might perhaps convey the idea of an arrière pensée... ? or perhaps 'conclure' somewhere might also convey a slight sexual connotation not out of keeping with the rest of the text...? |
