Menominee
Explanation:
This is a misspelling of Menominee, a Native American tribe from Wisconsin. The name is actually an Ojibwa name meaning “wild rice eaters”. There own name for themselves in their language is Mamaceqtaw, which, like the names of many aboriginal peoples, means “the people”. Their language is related to Fox, Kickapoo, and other Algonquian languages.

agree  kashew: Could well be the Indian tribe - but the "Amish" spelling is Mennonite.//There's a problem with the spelling but I know what you meant!

-> I don't think it has anything to do with the Mennonites, as it happens
