Explanation:
Les moteurs électriques triphasés comportent 3 bobinages et peuvent être branchés aux 3 phases du réseau électrique triphasé de deux manières différentes:
- les 3 bobinages sont branchés entre une phase du réau (1, 2 ou 3) et une phase "neutre" (N) >> branchement en étoile (1-N, 2-N, 3-N)
- les 3 bobinages sont branchés entre entre 2 des phases du réseau triphasé >> branchement en triangle (1-2, 2-3, 1-3)
Ces deux configurations sont utilisées pour démarrer des moteurs triphasés (d'une certaine puissance): on commence par un branchement étoile et on commute en branchement triangle lorsque le moteur a acquis une certaine vitesse.
Pour pouvoir démarrer ainsi un moteur triphasé, il faut que le câblage soit prévu à cet effet.
D'où l'appellation "Dual-drive (Y-Delta)".
