Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering / Parts | | English term or phrase: Boss clamp | 1. Periodic clamping bolts re-tightening is necessary due to “Cold-Flow” present in all rubber hoses. Tighten to recommended torque value listed on “BOSS CLAMPS” chart.
2. Examine for and change out worn hoses and weakened Boss clamps. If the hoses are to be changed out, change the Boss clamps also. These Boss clamps hold the hose connections under a large amount of pressure. Remember, Boss clamps (including the nuts and bolts) are for single use only. Do not reuse! Once removed, discard.
