English term or phrase: mill
I am translating the manual of a welder. The word "mill" appears with various meaning. Sometimes it means "atelier" on other occasions it refers to a part of the welder.
I used several technical dictionaries but they give several translations of the term. Each term suits a specific context.
What is the "mill" in a welder?
I found "moulin, moteur, laminoir broyeur etc.."
I would like the technical term when talking of a welder.

Ex of sentence:
1. To stop welding, STOP the mill or press the HEAT OFF button.
Stopping the mill allows power to be applied to the weld point almost until the mill has stopped.
Pressing the heat off button removes the weld power immediately. The preferred method of stopping the mill is to stop the mill first and not touch the welder controls
