Medical
English term or phrase: overseen
Domain: clinical assay
Context:" The patient complained of pain, and it was found that the
suction drain had sucked 14 holes in the bowels, the holes were overseen, but
the patient died of the after affects of faecal peritonitis."

Just can't find the meaning right here.
Any suggestion?

Thanks in advance

Explanation:
to oversee = contrôler, surveiller, vérifier...

d'où la suite de la phrase : "but the patient..."

gérés(?), traités(?)

Explanation:

agree  RHELLER: interesting discussion: if they did such a great job of "overseeing", why did the patient die?
