J'ai effectué une recherche dans Googles en tapant "PCR technology + US", et rien n'indique que US serait une maladie. Au contraire, US fait référence, entre autres, aux brevets délivrés aux États-Unis.

Cetus holds two U.S. patents covering PCR technology and more than 150 patent applications are pending in the United States and worldwide related to the PCR process and products used in performing the process. In addition to its applications in human diagnostics, PCR technology is broadly useful in the field of molecular biology and has direct application in the cloning and expression of new proteins.
