This compound has been developed by Eisai Co., Ltd. and was launched in Japan in 1985 in the form of a plain tablet formulation. Its structural formula is shown below.
XXX * retard *is a controlled – release formulation developed with the aims of controlling hypertension with a single daily dose and of simultaneously minimizing the adverse effects characteristic of alpha1-blockings agents.
