Je pense qu'il s'agit simplement d'une erreur de frappe pour UV Spectrophotometer. Quelqu'un pourrait-il me dire si la lettre S est à côté de la lettre U sur un clavier Qwerty ?

Explanation:
Experimental protocol
Two independent experiments, each with three biological replicates, were conducted. in 1L Erlenmeyer flasks. To train the circadian clock before sampling, the cultures were incubated for 10 days under the same experimental conditions. Cell growth was followed by monitoring the OD750 using a Uvikon 933 VIS-US spectrophotometer (Kontron Instruments).

Or, le modèle Uvikon 933 est de type UV/VIS double faisceau.
D'ailleurs, le nom UVikon le sous-entend.

C'est donc une coquille, à mon humble avis
