English to French translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Military / Defense / submarines and torpedoes | | English term or phrase: Technical Refresh and Technical Insertion activities | The HWTU Project will upgrade the technical performance and supportability of existing equipment such that maritime forces are better positioned to ensure sustainable operational excellence both at home and abroad. Specifically, and in accordance with established Defence Priorities, the HWTU Project will increase the ability of the Victoria Class submarine to exercise Arctic sovereignty and provide support to continental, as well as coalition, NATO and UN led missions. The new supportability model that will incorporate Technical Refresh and Technical Insertion activities will reduce the torpedo sustainment costs for the remainder of the life of the Victoria Class submarine by allowing for periodic, incremental updates rather than a more significant, dedicated mid-life modernization.
