Asker: I forgot to mention that I got the translation from http://www.minerauxetfossiles.com/sciences/news/news_info91.htm I now realise that it had to do with gems, and their crystal facets. In this case, I think we are talking about 'abnormal' sections of orebodies. Other occurrences in the text: "RC and air core chip samples were collected at 1 m intervals across visibly mineralised zones and at 4 m intervals across what appeared to be barren intercepts." "Summary of Best Drill Intercepts". La recherche booléenne de "des intercepts" "forage" sur Google donne 27 sites, la plupart utilisant 'intercepts' dans ce sens géologique.
