English term or phrase: Dalmatian one-stringed fiddle
Hi,

I remember the word being something like zigla or zougla.

Our French teacher was very keen on vocabulary building, and one of our friends found this very obscure word and used to take the mickey out of him: “What, you don't know the word “zigla” (or whatever it is)? It’s your bread and butter!”

All the best,

Simon
