English term or phrase:caretaker
Hi,
I'm stuck with this word in the following context:
[description of an orphenage in Latin America] "There is a psychologist, a social worker and several other caretakers present."
I understand that it might refer to the people who help with the children's homework, washing, maybe with some domestic chores, etc. but I'm not sure what to use in French... Any suggestion?

(PS: These 'caretakers' may work on a voluntary basis - I'm not sure.)

Le seul problème est que 'auxiliaire de vie/soins' fait plutôt penser, je crois, aux personnes âgées ou handicapées et me semble un peu trop 'professionnalisé' dans le contexte d'un orphelinat au Pérou (où il me semble que beaucoup de personnes sont là pour aider sans avoir de formation particulière (ce que le terme 'caretaker' en anglais me semble pouvoir suggérer)). Le compromis que j'ai trouvé grâce à vos suggestions est 'auxiliaire en puériculture' qui suggère au moins qu'il s'agit d'aide aux enfants... Merci encore à tous!
